Sturrock: New Shrimpers boss
Sturrock: 'Certainly won't be tinkering with the team or trying things with next season in mind'

Now we at S24 Towers are not one's to miss out on a party, especially someone else's, but I'm afraid we are just goimg to have to make our own merriment in Bucks this weekend!

While there's no love from the Shrimpers faithful for Graham Turner and his Shrewsbury side, Matt Harrold and all, and they need Southend to take something from the weekend clash with Wycombe at Adams Park to gain automatic promotion from League One at the Chairboy's expense, as long as they do better at home to Oxford that is, but lucky for them handing out three points to our opponents on a plate is just not our style.

Actually it can be, but the Shrimpers are on a one defeat in seven games run, and a last day away win, wherever you are, always makes us laugh, so I'm afraid the Chairboys will have to do it the hard way and put up with a serious clash on the field and every effort we can do to spoil their party so we can enjoy ours even more on it!

And more good news for the Shropshire lads is that Blues boss Paul Sturrock has no intention of letting his team think they've got an early start to their summer hols!

Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: "Just like Burton, who secured league survival last weekend, Wycombe also have plenty to play for. They currently sit third, the final automatic promotion position, but are just a point above fourth placed Shrewsbury Town. It's a must win situation for them and they will be desperate to beat us. We will be giving it a real go and I certainly won't be tinkering with the team too much or be trying things with next season in mind because I don't think that would be fair on the other sides going for promotion. It will be a good game to be part of and one we're looking forward to."

As we all are Luggs, as we all are.

It just didn't gel in time!:
