Mohsni: Late header

Mohsni: 'I would be ready to start against Macclesfield tomorrow night'

The Shrimpers faithful might have been surprised when Bilel Mohsni was passed fit enough to take his place on the bench at Roots Hall Friday evening, but probably not that he was sent up front with 14 minutes left and grabbed a vital point for his team with a diving header coming in the third minute of stoppage time, his second goal since signing in the summer!

Bilel told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I enjoyed playing as a striker and I think I should play there more often now. I played there in a few training drills on Thursday when we went through defending set pieces and it was enjoyable. Scoring the goal was even better though and I like it up there. But, after being out injured for a little while, playing out there anywhere would be brilliant."

The French Tunisian has been plagued by injuries all season, and this particular ankle problem was picked up in the 2-0 victory at Cheltenham Town last December.

So now he's had a taste as a striker, does he want more against Macclesfield Town in the rearranged home fixture Tuesday evening.

Bilel continued: "It had been frustrating being out so I'm glad to be back and my ankle feels fine. The physio has done a good job getting me back and I would be ready to start against Macclesfield tomorrow night if the gaffer wants me too — maybe even up front."

You have been warned Silkmen!
