Lee Barnard; still at the club, for now

The Roots Hall faithful are rightly concerned that in form forward Lee Barnard could leave the club during the January transfer window well below market value, as rivals are more than aware of Southend's nationality publicised financial problems.

However, the Southampton Daily Echo writes that they are just as keen on Kevin Lisbie of Ipswich, presently on loan to the Farmers having scored 10 league goals and........Gary Hooper!

Saints transfer targets according to www.dailyecho.co.uk:

• Neil Danns (from Crystal Palace)
• Lee Barnard (from Southend) - Link
• Gary Hooper (from Scunthorpe)
• Simeon Jackson (from Gillingham)
• Scott Arfield (from Falkirk)
• John Rooney (from Macclesfield)
• Nathan Delfouneso (from Aston Villa)
• Kevin Lisbie (from Ipswich) - Link
• Andy Robinson (from Leeds)

So don't panic yet, he's after everybody, though are we the club in the more desperate need of a cash boost?

Will Uncle Ron sell the family silver for 150k? Well, he was going to get rid of Simon Francis at that rate.

And according to a poll in the paper, Lee's the one the Saints support wants!
Get on that Lisbie link and vote now, anyone but the good Lord!
