Ricketts: Southend trial

'I'm really hoping we can agree a deal in the next 48 hours'; dream on

The Ricketts Saga Part 211........

Shrimper sources were telling us yesterday that trailist Rohan Ricketts had; 'Failed to impress, lacks fitness, wants too much money'. I think we see where the club are leading us on this one.

Anyway you can't keep a good man down, certainly not one with the media skills of Mr. Ricketts.

RR has told BBC Essex: "The negotiations are still ongoing between the chief executive and my agent. It's not about me wanting more than what they can give. It's about a fair offer. I'm really hoping we can agree a deal in the next 48 hours, or I probably am going to have to speak to other clubs."

Mate, we thought you had, League One Stevenage for starters, or is it back to Hungary again or wherever you can talk your way into getting the dosh you believe you deserve. (That chat: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk)

As for 48 hours, wasted threat, we've been there already with a certain ex-Crystal Palace tank, and that ended up dragging on for a fortnight

We can tough it out!

And Rohan insists he's not the only player eating all the pies at this time of year after Blues boss Paul Sturrock hinted he may need to have more game time.

Ricketts hit back: "He's right but pre-season is for players improving their fitness. I don't know if that's a bargain chip for him, every player throughout pre-season is trying to improve their fitness."

'Bargaining chip', Rohan we don't have a pot to piss in to bargain with!

Oh well son, we'll always have Fife, (and that hat-trick!)
