Moshni apology: 'I know I made a mistake'

Back page of Thursday's Echo; speaks volumes!

Bilel, Bilel, what do you do with him?

The Shrimpers faithful seem to be in forgiving mood, well it is Christmas, and 48 hours after the Oldham cup replay defeat the early voting in our poll is 60% in favour of him staying, (this is now as good as level, big run on Go!), even after being sent off on only 38 minutes for receiving two yellow cards.

It seems that Bilel was seen outside Boundary Park asking fans how to get to the train station but was eventually given a lift home by a club director!

Writing on his Facebook page the French Tunisian said he was 'angered by Peter Gilbert's refusal to shake his hand' in the dressing room after the 1-0 loss to the Latics.

Echoman Chris Phillips has been at today's training and been posting the feedback, and after a flurry of tweets from the players they have now insited to the media that they will make no further comments on the matter.

However, the man himself has.

Mohsni told the paper: "I want to apologise to the fans, chairman and manager. I know I made a mistake but it wasn't on purpose."

The full message will be in Friday's paper, and we will post it up as soon as we see it.

He does include his team mates in the apology it seems, but is it enough?

'It wasn't on purpose' seems a bit odd, blimey, what would have happened if he'd meant it!

The legendary club source said: “The players were all quite angry by Bilel's red card, especially as it's the not the first time he has been involved in something like this. For many of them this was the final straw as they feel he cost them the chance to play at Liverpool in the next round and their feelings were made known at the final whistle. Bilel didn't like that and his future at the football club will now be considered.”

Phillips went on to add: 'Bilel will be disciplined and an in house debate about his future will take place. Expected at training today (Thursday) too.'

That will be interesting.
