Meet the Blues Day Scores with the Fans

Blues boss Steve Tilson made sure the first team squad did the business in front of the watching faithfull. They stayed around afterwards to sign many autographs.

There was also a chance to see some of Mark Bonners School of Excellence being put through their paces.

It was great to see the legendary and lovely Blue Belles walking around the place. The new Red away strip they were wearing was not going down to well with a few of the fans. Oh well, as long as we pick up the points wearing the thing who cares what it looks like, though the club may notice the lack of 40quids passing over the counter, especially as season ticket holders have lost the automatic 10% discount in the club shop.

The queuing crowds at the Shrimpers Trust tent looked good, I'm sure they picked up some new memebers while the old ones had a chance to book nights out coming up as well as invest in all sorts of Trust goodies. Hope you had a good day lads.

There were plenty of veteran Blues on show especially as a team of them were taking on fellow Southend United website Shrimperzone FC, who they beat 6-3 in a fiercely contested game. Certainly seen around the ground were Terry Alderton, Frankie Banks, Dean Austin, Bill Garner, David Crown, Dave Cusack, Danny O'Shea, as well as T&B.

"Bill Garner Superstar, do you know how great you are?" He was there!

The beer was very drinkable, thanks lads, on a day that remained hot despite some forecasts.

Shrimpers of all ages seemed to be enjoying the day so congrats on the club for setting up the event once again and everyone who worked so hard on the day making sure they did.
