Let's Stick Together urges Barrett

Southend have now not won in the league since late October and a 1-0 home victory over Leeds.

The bad run continued on Saturday as Huddersfield inflicted United's third succesive defeat in a row, and second at Roots Hall, as Ian Craney scored in a 1-0 win for the Terriers.

Talking to the Southend Evening Echo Captain Adam said: "We're going through a blip which is disappointing and we all have to pull together now. It's frustrating being 12th in the table because the play-offs is where we want to be but we're going through a bit of a blip. It's not ideal but the only way we are going to get out of it is to dig in and work even harder. We have a lot of games coming up though and we have to be ready for them because it's a chance to put ourselves back in contention. We have to be ready for the Hartlepool game and be really up for it but we need a win there now."

A cold night in the north-east, in front of a hundred odd loyal Shrimpers, will decide if Southend enter the Christmas period in a reasonable position to challenge again for a play-off place.
