LDV Vans Trophy Travel Update

Last updated : 06 March 2004 By Robert Craven

Alan Wainwright of Traffic Wales has sent us this information for Southend United who are intending to travel to the LDV Vans Trophy final by car:

“The Welsh Assembly's traffic information centre, Traffic Wales has access to CCTV cameras on the routes approaching Cardiff and can provide journey planning advice and matchday traffic reports for supporters.

Visit: www.traffic-wales.com or call 0845 6026020

The South Wales section of the website carries event specific travel advice which we trust will be useful to supporters. We hope supporters enjoy their day in Cardiff.”

Meanwhile, the Shrimpers Trust overnight coach organiser Craig Fillary still has around twenty places to fill on the vehicle. If you want to stay in a hotel on the Saturday night and fancy a ‘Human Traffic’-style weekend in the Welsh Principality, then get in touch with him on cfillar1@visteon.com. The whole experience costs just £85.

Southend United have reported that ticket sales are going well for the trip, with nearly 10,000 having purchased them for the day in Cardiff. The Shrimpers Trust have filled two trains and eleven coaches for the journey, and both parties restart selling tickets and vouchers (coach only now, although negotiations continue with regards to extra carriages) on Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are on sale from the Main Ticket Office in the northeast corner and coach vouchers from the Programme Hut. Visit www.shrimperstruct.co.uk for more details on travel arrangements for the big day out.
