Joycey rides the Rapids

Former back-up keeper Ian Joyce has signed for United States based MLS side the Colorado Rapids.

The Colorado Rapids have announced the signing of former Blues goalkeeper Ian Joyce.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed but as he was released from his contract with Southend I don't think Ron will be seeing any cash from this one.

As long as all the paperwork goes through correctly Joycey is expected to join the team this week during the club's preseason training in London.

The 24-year old shot stopper and Seton Hall University graduate has played his entire professional career in England since joining Grays Athletic FC in 2007, then moving to Watford and most recently with the Shrimpers. 

Ian went back to the States earlier this year to look to return to his country of his birth and spent had a brief trial with Colorado during their preseason in February before joining the club on a permanent basis.
