Francis Laurent; One of a hat-trick of Shrimpers who could be out injured

Midfielders Jean-Francois Christophe and Anthony Grant, along with wideboy Francis Laurent all missed training Thursday and are rated doubtful.

The first two picking up knocks against Millwall Tuesday evening, while Laurent's injury is ongoing after a scan picked up a hamstring problem before the trip to South London leading him to miss that game.

On-loan Sunderland defender Jean-Yves M'Voto? Still doubtful as rehabilitation from his hip surgery continues; until May?

And what's the news on 'too ill to go out and play the second half at the Den' Osei Sankofa? Not that I blame him, it was bloody cold.

This adds to Macca definitely out as he sits out the first of his two-match suspension and, well, add in the selling of our top scorer Barney, and present events are certainly adding to the overall doom and gloom hanging over our heroes at the moment.

However, the news that two ColU players have joined us on loan, no not Heath and White, but Baldwin and Vernon, should cheer everyone up a touch.

It's certainly never boring supporting Southend; we'll probably win 3-0!

(EEB's weekly preview will appear later, once he's returned from the pub!)
