Holdsworth: Encourages team

Holdsworth: 'If we turn up and give everything we've got, the fans will be right behind us'

Shots boss Dean Holdsworth is dertermined to hang on to the positives from their 4-0 mauling at Vale Park, and why not, the last time they played at home a fortnight ago, they beat fourth placed Shrewsbury Town 1-0!

Holdsworth told BBC Surrey: "We need to carry on where we left off against Shrewsbury with the same desire and commitment for each other. There were moments against Port Vale where we played very well. We know we are capable of performing and it's about finding the right formula to achieve that. Southend are full of confidence but we know on our day, we'll be able to compete. If we turn up and give everything we've got, the fans will be right behind us. The biggest present I can get is three points."

Not sure 'we're full of confidence' Deano, but hopefully the lads will improve on recent performances!
