Southend have been informed by Ipswich they can take transfer-listed defender Dan Harding on loan after all. A permanent transfer could then be discussed at a later date.
Blues boss Steve Tilson is keen to talk to Harding after already turning down
one former Ipswich full back in Jamie Clapham while unsure about Luton lefty Lewis Emanule, who he was getting back to today. (Probably now waiting for a response from Suffolk.)
Though Preston, who were favourites to get Harding's signature, would have offered the defender the chance to remain in the Championship, personal reasons have led to the Southend move becoming more attractive.
Whether this can be sorted out for Dan to make his debut aganst Peterborough in two days time remains to be seen.
