Hall: 'I would've liked to have started & felt fit enough to do so'

Hall: 'I want to help the club get promotion this season'

Shrimpers wideboy Ryan Hall was certainly missed as his side prepared to take on the Shrews at the Greenhous Meadow Stadium Saturday afternoon.

However, illness and personal problems led to some lost training and Blues boss Paul Sturrock believed Ryan would serve the team best by being on the subs bench.

Eventually he had to bring him on and, sure enought, the former Crystal Palace youth grabbed the equaliser with another fine strike.

His 11th goal of the season making him now the joint top scorer with Liam Dickinson, who kindly set up his goal for him, which is fair enough, seeing how many assists Hally has given the team over the present campaign!

Hall told www.echo-news.co.uk: “It's a big disappointment to have come here, played against 10 men and lost 2-1. It is difficult to play against 10 men and Shrewsbury did make it hard for us but we know this was a great chance for us to pick up more points. Of course I would've liked to have started as well and I felt fit enough to do so. But the manager explained I wouldn't be playing because I had to miss a couple of days training in the week and I accept his decision.”

Should he have been on at the start, along with Jack Sampson?

A firm yes from S24, but only Luggy makes the decisions and he hasn't done too badly this campaign, and we are still top of the league, until next Saturday afternoon at least.

Next up for us, the visit of Di Canio's Robins Tuesday week, hopefully after they've knackered themselves up at Leicester in the Cup!

By then the tempremental Italian Swindon boss may have been told to watch the game from the Roots Hall stands after his latest outburst!
