Hall: 'I want to help the club get promotion this season'

Following up from our story yesterday that Blues wideboy Ryan Hall is top of the assists league, the former Crystal Palace youth has now confirmed what the faithful has been waiting for that'he's happy at the club', and it looks as if Millwall, Nottingham Forest, or old favourites, Ipswich Town, who have ben linked with half the squad at some time or another, want to take him away in the January transfer window that will have to cough up more than a token fee!

Hall told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I like being at Southend and I want to stay here. I want to help the club get promotion this season and want to keep on creating chances for the team because that’s my main job as a winger.”

There may be only the Spanish superstar David Silva of Premier League leaders Manchester City and League One Sheffield United's Stephen Quinn close to Ryan on assists, 11 to his 14 (13 league & 1 cup), he is well aware that he owes a lot to the big boys in the side being in the right place at the right time in the danger areas.

Hall said: “It’s nice to hear that I’ve made the most goals but it’s also down to the fact we have the players who can attack the ball in the box. Mark Phillips has done that a few times this season, so has Bilel Mohsni and Liam Dickinson, so with people like that in the penalty area I know I have to keep on getting crosses in and they will score.”

Ryan has returned to applying his trade up the right side since new signing David Martin arrived at the club from Derby County, a natural left winger, but that's no problem for the Dulwich born boy.

Hall explained: “I like it out on the right-hand side. I have a great defender behind me in Sean Clohessy, who helps me, and I’m also able to get inside and shoot on my left foot.I can also cross the ball easily too and hopefully it can keep on going well.”

As we all do mate!
