Grant: Late equaliser for Southend

Hurrah; Granty will be fit for Saturday, we await news on Moshni and Simpson

The Shrimpers most important player, the midfielder Anthony Grant, has insisted he will be fit to face his former club Wycombe Wanderers at Roots Hall Saturday afternoon.

Granty told www.echo-news.co.uk: "My back just started to hurt because I hadn't played for a little while but I'm sure I will be fine to play on Saturday. I'm never completely alright but I should be OK to be out there again and we want to carry on from where we left off against Cheltenham because that was an excellent win for us."

However, the club awaits news on the match fitness of influential Bilel Moshni and midfielder Josh Simpson, who both went off during the 2-0 win at Cheltenham Town with ankle problems.

Pooor Bilel has been playing on through the pain barrier for most of the season, when he's not sitting out a suspension, and if the match gets the go-ahead for the weekend the pitch might just be a touch too tough to take a chance on the Frenchman as well as the loanee Peterborough player.

Of course if he's given the choice, we know Bilel will be out there giving his all as usual!
