Peter Gilbert; will be kicking the ball on his own on Saturday as well

The Shrimpers left-back Peter Gilbert was probably confident in his selection for the F.A. Cup First Round tie at Macclesfield Saturday afternoon once he had sat out his one match against Cheltenham for reaching five yellow cards.

Wrong! A fire breaking out in the fuse box of one of the floodlight pylon's led to two of the four floodlights breaking down and the players tropping off on 66 minutes never to return.

As the match was officially abandoned by the referee it simply doesn't count and Gilbert will have to miss the long trip at the weekend.

With replacement in the position at the Robins Michael Timlin not available for the Cup game it should allow Johnny Herd a step up from the subs bench, unless Luggy is determined to keep Johnny out, Hall for full back anyone?

Anyway. could be worse for Peter, at least the All Blacks are playing England on Saturday.
