Fry: Anger at agent

Fat Fry: 'We do like young, hungry players'

The old Judas Barry Fry, Peterborough United's director of football, is up to mischief once again and reminded us very kindly that the Championship club are still keen on Shrimpers midfielder Kane Ferdinand.

You obviously don't listen to your own chairman Baz, as the talented teenager, who is not even guaranteed to be in the starting line-up against Burton Albion Saturday, was not the subject of a £300,000 bid during the close season according to the Posh supremo Darragh MacAnthony.

Fry told www.skysports.com: "He is one that we are keeping an eye on and we've heard great things from our scouts about him. I've spoken to both the manager and chief executive of Southend about him, but their valuation of the lad is much higher than ours. We do like young, hungry players and he is certainly one of those that fits into that category, so we will continue to monitor his progress."

He does love the sound of his own voice, especially when there's someone willing to record it.

For the record MacAnthony tweeted: "He is on list of talented youngsters for future and we made a call about him. [We] are planning to keep eye on him this season. I see Sky [Sports News] has us spending £300k on young lad... promising young player for future but we did not offer this for him."

Make your mind up lads, as we said at the time, if Uncle Ron had seen that amount of money on the table the odds are he would have taken it!
