Don't Panic: Big Phil plans to play first team

It was reported in the Sun that he had intended to give up to SIX players a day off. However, Scolari is furious at the defensive lapses that saw Fulham grab a 2-2 draw on Sunday.

The Brazilian gave his players Tuesday off after Fulham's last-gasp equaliser at the weekend but now Petr Cech, Joe Cole, Michael Ballack, Deco, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka can all expect to face the Blues.

Scolari said: "Before training we had a good team meeting. Now we look ahead to my first FA Cup game, one we must play as if we are playing a team first or second in the Premier League."

Thanks Phil!

Frank Lampard is the only player who will be offered the chance to put his feet up — but he is likely to decline. Lampard is captain in place of the banned John Terry and has always refused any chance to rest in the past.

After the summit, Lampard urged the Chelsea boo-boys to stop turning on Deco as he insisted the midfielder could provide the magic in their challanges for the rest of the season starting with Southend.

Lampard believes the Portugese international was affected by the thigh injury that kept him out for a month and is why he has struggled to find form since returning in October.

He explained: "Since he came back he has not played at his top level but that goes for all of us in the last few games. People have got to stick with Deco because he can do something special. It has not been easy for him to do that, epecially since he cam back from injury."

Has the thought of Macca running through Deco to set up a glorious chance for Dougie, lurking in a Terry free defense, got them rattled?!

Roll on Saturday.
