Diamonds Are Forever insists Brushy......while the the good Lord Barnard is injured, again.

Forever, Best Friend, Geezer, Quality, just how many plays are there left on the word? Oh no, play, a Diamond Flush, that's it, that's bloody it, whatever happened to 4-1-2-1-2, that makes perfect sense.

The bigger worry is that Lee Barnard may not play on Saturday due to a dodgy calf, "not serious", says the club, but this is the same source that told us Macca was being 'rested'. It doesn't matter what formation we use, a fit and goal scoring Lord is vital to any sort of successful season, who else is going to get 20 plus goals?

Oh and Damien Scannell's out as well, that old favourite the groin, so is Alex Revell part of the 2 or the 1? I'm confused, I'm still stuck in the world of 'wingless wonders'. Have the Hungarians really beaten us at Wembley?

Still Brushy has explained the science of it all to the official site. "The days of sticking to one formation have gone. At the end of last season we realised that we needed to be more veratile and that is what we are working on. Some formations suit some individuals more than others and the diamond is the easiest one to switch from a 4-4-2."

Well, yes, but have we got those individuals? I would argue we did that last season anyway with MarkyG wandering all over the park, that boy could be missed badly, not only for his goals.

The man who puts the B in 'T&B we trust' went on to brush away, no pun intended, the concerns some of us have of the small squad. It all smells like team spirit apparently. "Having a small squad has improved team spirit and given the youngsters a chance to show what they can do. The other players have also played more matches which means they are a lot fitter. (Or injured.) We have had more cohesion in the last two matches. Against Fulham the team showed for 45 minutes what we can do. At Braintree we were an embarrasment, but other than that the pre-season has gone well."

Well there you have it, how much salt you want to place on that, or give the man a slap on the back, is up to you.

We at TLG Towers continue to remain positive, I mean really what do you expect him to say, but we are not the propaganda department of SUFC and Lord Haw Haw style statements, (look him up), are are other sites.

An official editoral on the current position will bid farewell to July tomorrow, now that is a reason for a sleepless night!
