Fairhurst: Set for Shrimpers switch

Will Waide be back in a Rovers shirt by the end of the day? (Er...yes!)

Blues boss Paul Sturrock is to inform Southend United's loanee striker Waide Fairhurst whether he has a future at Roots Hall now his initial four week loan period from Championship Doncaster Rovers has come to an end.

Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: 'We will be speaking very soon. He did well in his first game but in his second no one played well. After that it's been hard for him to get in the team because Blair (Sturrock) and Barry Corr are back fit but I will be holding talks with him."

As Luggy says it's difficult to give a view on Waide as we've hardly seen him, the Crewe game was not good for anybody, however those at Chesterfield felt he had good movement and laid the ball off well when played to his feet.

Whether that's enough to see him stay, even if he wants to, when the bench might be his future over the short term we will have to see, however we should know soon, with Nathaniel Jarvis Luggy sent him back to Cardiff by mid-afternoon on the day he held talks with the Welsh born youngster!
