Deadly Dougie up for League One Player of the Month

Freedman, still knocking them in at the age of 34, having scored four goals in four games last month, has proved to be a huge hit at Roots Hall since his midnight flight from Crystal Palace on deadline day.

The clubs on the receiving end of Dougie's goalscoring skill have been Carlisle, Crewe, (a brace there), and Leyton Orient.

The players who will try and rob him of his rightful reward are his former Leeds United team-mate Jermaine Beckford, Peterborough United's Craig Maskell-Smith and Millwall goalkeeper David Forde, luckily for David it was August when he dropped that cross for Alex Revell to score!

The League One winner will be announced on Monday October 6 on the Big League Weekend show around 19.00 on Sky Sports 2.
