Alassane N'Diaye: On the move to Roots Hall?
According to a report in the South London Press the Shrimpers are about to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Alassane N'Diaye on a season-long loan.
N'Diaye was on loan at Swindon Town towards the latter part of last season and would be in a position that could lead to further speculation that; a) Craig Easton continues to drive a hard bargin, b) Michael Timlin has indeed been swayed by a cool Italian in ray bans, c) Luggy is telling porkies about interest in Kane Ferdinand or, indeed, Anthony Grant!
Alassane is one of two Eagles who tried to help prevent the Robins from relegation back into the basement division, the other was striker Calvin Andrew, but were unsuccessful.
If true, and remember this is the paper that told us that Harris was not leaving Millwall (though that was another journalist), it shows that Eagles boss Dougie Freedman is looking kindly on his former club, and that Blues boss Paul Sturrock's love affair with his ex-employees Swindon shows no sign of abating (as well as returning to his give youth a chance policy)!
And, of course, the Shrimpers love of stray Frenchman!
Interesting one, not a bad player and only 21, but chasing up our Swindon correspondant as I write, and will report back soon, in the meantime this continues to shape up to the best close season for a very long time!
