Coughlan: In for Southend stay

Coughlan: 'We have a great group to work with here'

Southend United believe they have done a decent bit of business signing up veteran defender Graham Coughlan for a further two years.

A couple of campaigns that should see him focusing, injuries to the squad permitting, more on his coaching duties assisting Blues boss Paul Sturrock on match days, as well as being the main man in charge of the reserves.

Coughlan told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I’m glad everything has been sorted and that I’m staying because I genuinely believe next season could be a successful one for us. Working in football is the best job in the world and we have a great group to work with here, so I’m excited about next season.”

Certainly if anything happened to Luggy the board might not look any futher than the Irish born former Shrewsbury skipper.
