Chris Powell on trail at Bournemouth

Charlton Athletic's Chris Powell, in tears at his last match, celebrates with his child after the final whistle.

Chris at the end of his last match for Charlton with his son, many would like to Red changed to Blue but have Bournemouth got in first?

Sir Chris is being viewed as a short-term solution for the League Two side who are desperately short of players. Those that Bournemouth do have are short of experience so their boss Kevin Bond is on the look out for players, and Chris seems to fit the bill, he told Bournemouth Echo; "This is definitely a here and now short-term situation if it were to happen.

"I've got two young boys potentially who are going to be playing centre-half, with potentially a young goalkeeper, so you are undoubtedly going to need some experience around them.

"He's such a good professional, he's a fitness fanatic, he's not a drinker and he's such a good influence that I just thought it was too good an opportunity for us to pass up."

Obviously TLG hopes that he can get himself fixed up, even if it is just a short-term deal, as he can still do a job. However with Clapham on his way should we now make a move before it's too late.

The club have continually denied interest, and they could be looking for a defender with more height. (Chris is 5ft 10ins).

While, who knows, maybe League Two is the right level for Chris at his current age of 38.

There are many of the Roots Hall faithful that would dismiss all of this though to see Chris Powell walk out wearing a Blue No. 3 shirt once again.
