Alex of Clockwork Orange

Apologies my droogs, and it's not Gillingham 1972, but I was at the Proms for a touch of Ludwig van's No. 5, so it's a report made up from the many texts I've received on the game, well it is 2008!

Though its too early for a spot of ultra violence there was some angry words being sent to me as I turned my phone back on after leaving the Albert Hall.

No width, not surprising as our two wide men have left the club and Damien was injured. No pattern, well it seems there was one as such, it just dosen't seem to be working. No clue, again a touch harsh by all accounts, we were playing a very competeitive Chelmsford side who missed a few good chances. And I haven't even started on the Francis as left back reports.

There was some less than positive comments about the Moose-Bailey partnership but if the Macca injury does turn out to be a bad one it's what we've got, so lets give it another go at Wycombe and hope the sparks start flying.

Revell missed a sitter, which is more of a concern as the votes are starting to go towards him for the SUFC Exiles sponsored player, a worry for me and my wallet!

OK, enough, as the thunder starts to build up outside, and I need my beauty sleep, lets look at the good stuff.

The young yank keeper did not let a goal in.

Anthony Grant worked hard as a defensive midfielder and if the signing is confirmed will be welcome. He fouls like Macca as well which is nice

Walker went on some trademark good runs and in the 28th minute bumped into a Chelmsford defender in the area, ref gives a penalty, up steps Mr. Furlong who sends ex-Blue City keeper Danny Gay in the wrong direction, the ball nestling into the left hand corner for his first goal for the club.

The Chelmsford shot stopper continued to earn his dosh by making good saves from Furlong and Bailey.

There's still time, well 13 days actually, for one or two loan signings or a free, which is the best we can probably hope for, the Clapham signing I'm told fell through because of 'wage demands', we just can't afford to pay very much.

Tilly has a small squad, (Mildenhall, Barnard and Scannell will hopefully be fit to take some part at the weekend), and has to work them into a competitive unit somehow for Peterborough, and I'm sure he will. In T&B we trust and we do, we really do, we see it everyday in our headline. We do.

Southend:
Joyce, Sankofa, Clarke, Barrett, Francis, Grant, Bailey Moose, Revell (Ademeno 75), Walker, Furlong.
