The Echo has reported Wednesday that the Shrimpers are on the verge of signing a winger from the Championship who could be in place in time for the weekend clash with Port Vale!
The legendary club source told the paper: “Southend are definitely keen to make more signings during January and a couple more could even be made this week. The Michael Timlin transfer should be made permanent this week and the move for the winger is getting closer too. He’s keen to come here but it’s just a question of sorting out the financial side of things now.”
Who could it be?
This bloke would be good, www.teamtalk.com; though League Two might be a bit of a drop for him!
But more realistically? More than likely someone who has been out on loan already this season, and certainly not a first team regular, that would be expecting too much, maybe picked up an early injury.
