Canvey Island 0 Southend United 0

Islands in the stream, that is what we are.
No one in between, how can we be wrong.
Sail away with me, to another world
and we rely on each other, uh huh
from one lover to another, uh huh

More rain as 962 brave souls watched a fairly souless affair.

Ian Joyce made his debut and looked OK after a nervy start, saving a Canvey free-kick smartly. Also seen for the first time were defender Jones, all 6'2" of him, Fabio in midfield and Stefiano all over the place! They had their moments, well Stefiano had very few and might not be seen again, but the fabulously named Fabio cetainly looked worth another look.

Clarkey had another full game as rumours have Tilly getting closer to the signature of Keogh of Bristol City, and he missed a sitter for good measure.

As did Revell, having a full game that is, and he was unlucky when he tried to chip the Canvey keeper Wiseman.  Some unfair booing.

Not so many changes in the second half as at Wakering, see the full team below.

Chances for Francis, another who played the full 90 minutes, and Rhys Henry but the closest the teams came to scoring were Canvey, who actually had the ball in the net but the ref blew up for a foul.

Other than that Macca looked strong in mid-field while Furlong was in the game more than Wednesday as he settles into the side.

Next stop Thurrock where TB can get wet.

Blues: Joyce, Francis, Herd, Stefiano (Ademeno 46), Clarke, Jones (Byrne 64), Lokando, McCormack, Furlong (Henry 67), Fabio (O'Keefe 67), Revell.
