ABERDEEN have completed the signing of former Scotland Under-21 left back Charlie Mulgrew.

Charlie is obviously hoping a move north, very north, will help get him more of the above.

The 22-year-old has inked a two year deal at Pittodrie and becomes the Dons' fifth new signing of the summer.

'Though maybe there's a pining for a return to Scotland, Hibs showed some interest last year, but that would go against comments Charlie has made previously.'

And so said I on July 9, what do footballers comments count for nowadays, not where agents are concerned. Still good luck mate, we'll miss those free-kicks!

Versatile Charlie was a product of the Celtic Youth System, and after a successful loan spell with Dundee United was sold to English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The defender, who can also play left midfield, was thought to be going to Swindon Town then maybe us but opted instead for a return to the SPL with the Reds.

Well, we were all saying there would be news on the transfer front this week! The mood at Fulham tonight could be a touch pensive, Ron and Co. we need to see something positive soon.
