Bonnes Nouvelles: Pompey Frenchman Christophe stays for another month

The French player who has added a touch of class to the Southend midfield, as well as being part of the team that has won three succesive games, has signed on for a further month.

Not surprising as Macca made it clear it will be a while before he's fit for a full 90 minutes in the first team, see how he's getting on in the reserves this afternoon, and Jean-Francois has built up a good partnership in the central midfield with Lee Sawyer.

Tilly spoke to the Southend Evening Echo about the reasons why he was keeping the Frenchman on: "His loan was due to expire after Saturday's game with Yeovil so we've sorted out keeping him for another month. I'm pleased it's been sorted out because he gives us a bit of muscle in there. We've been scoring plenty of goals but he does a good job as a holdong midfielder and helps the defence. I think he's been excellent for us and I'm pleased he will be staying longer."

However TLG still believe that once Macca is fully fit Christophe will finally return to the south coast as Anthony Grant or the Moose would be more than enough to cover further mishap to our tough tackling midfielder.

But for now, very welcome news.
