Barnard faces another late fitness test

He may be the club's top goalscorer, with just five efforts to his name, but a series of injuries, including calf and hamstring problems, has led the good Lord not to find the back of the net since a home match against Stockport in early October.

Barnard, who has a slight hip injury, would like nothing more than to end his personal barren run at Elland Road allowing Blues to improve an awful run which has seen them score just three times in their last nine league outings.

Speaking to the Southend Evening Echo Barnard said: "I've been in a bit of pain and didn't train yesterday but fingers crossed I'll play and help us get a good result and hopefully some goals. We aren't scoring enough at the moment and there's no hiding that fact. We aren't really creating much either and it's quite frustrating. It's down to the whole team but I'm still confident of scoring if a chance does come my way. I'll be working hard to try and create opportunities myself and hopefully we can do better in front of goal tonight, although it won't be easy because Leeds are a very good side."
