A Friday night in South Yorkshire..........Donny memories.

The Fixtures are out, Thurrock away is only 8 days away - the real stuff is back!

Now that that minor tournament in Austria has finished I found myself getting really excited again and have thoroughly missed my genuine football fix since that fateful friday night in May.

That night We, (the fans), were awesome - this was my stag do and I had a ball. Yes, we lost 5-1, but looking around as I conga'd my heart out at the front of the stand, (having just conceded the 3rd), people were having a party.

This for me was brilliant, it summed up what football was about. That night we didn't stop, people were singing, those that weren't had huge smiles on their faces, its just a damn shame that our 14 "heroes" on the Green Stuff didnt quite match our efforts.

Looking back on it and last season had you said to us in December that we'd lose in the Play Off Semi I'd have taken it as back then the Play Offs were a far away dream. So come 9.35 on that Friday night I really wasn't as upset as I thought I would be, my only reason for being annoyed was the fact that it was the Doncaster fans heading to Wembley and not us. Yes, their team outplayed ours hands down but their fans that night were shocking. I heard them make a noise 5 times funnily enough after every goal and the fact that some started to leave with 10 mins left was nothing short of shocking.

I can't remember a minute when there wasn't a chorus coming from the 'Blue Voice Choir' and everyone that went that night has to be applauded and even now should stand up and pat themselves on the back. I'd like to thank them for making my stag do so good - the after events for the record were some dodgy nightclubs followed by the obvious lap dance where you get told to sit on your hands and watch . . even then whilst I had some lovely lady (and if you're reading Mrs TB not half as lovely as you) dancing infront of me showing off her assets I couldn't help but feel slightly let down by the 14 tits on display that night but still proud of their efforts over what if we're honest had been a season of over achievement

Moving on . . . . .The wedding itself went well, the outlaws were well behaved (all apart from her mother who made the effort not to come) and I now have the pass which I wanted - that little ring sitting on my left hand not only means I am now off the market but it means I can do Stockport away!!!!!!

I had spent weeks looking forward to the Honeymoon, not only did it mean spending a couple of quality days with the wife and boy but also as it coincided with the fixtures being released on the Monday something which you can always look forward to. Its always nice to start at home and Peterborough will be a test for us as I think they will be one of those sides that will be up challenging at the end of the season.

I am shocked by the clubs decision to stick Peter Clarke and Nicky Bailey on the transfer list for not signing new contracts - yes I understand that no player is bigger than the club and with Clarkey I can understand as we could lose him next year for nothing. But Bailey??? Our Player of the season who has two years left on his contract surely we could have waited - but as always in Tilly and Brush we trust.

Obviously hoping to see some new faces come in over the next couple of weeks, but looking forward to seeing the boys in action next week even 76 year old Paul Furlong who we are all hoping can be half as good as the Goat was in his spell here. There is no Marky G anymore so this could mean that Scannell gets his chance to cruise the wing or see James Walker moved out there. Short Arse has moved to the Pal-arse and whilst he lacked in height he made up in effort and will be always remembered for his Man of the Match display against Man United and for me personally last season at Crewe with two penalty saves and a little bit of Kung Fu action following a chant of "Darryl do you hate Col Ewe", his replacement Mildenhall has some big shoes to fill even if the shirt will be a bit small on him.

It would be good to see us bring in Charlie Mulgrew amongst others and I am gutted that Hoops is looking to be going even if we do rake in £100k for him - when I am feeling slightly down though I take a look at the fixtures that were announced on Wednesday and Yes Wrexham are in the Blue Square!!!!!!!!!!!
