Franck Moussa: From a Moose to a Fox
So, after 103 appearances as a Shrimper, and many games in Ricky Duncan's under-18 side, Franck Moussa has joined another club, Championship team Leicester City no less, new owners and all.
Not too much of a surprise he's gone of course, being one of the many of Tilly's old squad who saw no future at Roots Hall, Stuar O'Keefe the only one still looking, and according to our west London based editor, had been seen training with QPR!
What was a surprise, well to me, was new Foxes boss Paulo Sousa when at Swansea City, was close to taking him to South Wales.
Lucky escape there Franck!
Anyway, he'll probably start in the reserves, but the Moose will be roaming around the Walkers Stadium from now on, and the SUFC Exiles after two happy seasons associated with Franck, have to find a new player to spend their dosh on.
There's certainly enough to choose from with Paul Sturrock as manager.
Howeverm back to Moose, he told www.lcfc.com: 'As soon as I heard of the interest it was a no-brainer, (obviously Neil Warnock wasn't), with the manager in charge this is a great opportunity to learn as a player.'
And young Franck has got in early to remind his new boss where he prefers to play.
The Moose continued: "I am a centre midfielder by trade, but I've played a bit out wide for Southend. I like the ball to my feet and get forward from midfield, if I can bring something positive to the game then I will."
Of course we wish Franck the best of luck, but it was only a couple of seasons he was loaned out to League Two Wycombe, and the Foxes might be a division too far at this stage of his career, I can see an early loan, we'll wait and see with interest.
Sadly, for now, it was up to Franck's agent Lara Southworth to tell www.echo-news.co.uk how the Moose truly loved us all.
Lara said: "Franck is very pleased to have joined Leicester. He had five years at Southend and experienced everything during that time but he was always be grateful for the opportunity they gave him. It was a real roller-coaster ride of emotions but he would like to say thank you to all the Southend fans for their support and wants to wish the club all the best for the future."
And we will always remember you scored the winner against the Framers Franck, and that one last season against Walsall wasn't bad either.
What was I saying earlier, he'll be a star!
