There is a feeling of growing optimisim amongst the Blues faithful, amazing what a win can do, and the results of the last two S24 polls certainly confirm that.
The Last Two S24 poll's| Getting worried that Sturrock's Shrimpers revolution will fail? | | | No, far too early to tell | 66.7% | | Yes, brought in poor players | 33.3% |
| | | Monday's High Court Decision sees the start of a new era for Southend United? | | | Yes, Uncle Ron has delivered | 53.7% | | No, the future is still bleak | 46.3% |
|
The future is bright, the future is Blue, and Uncle Ron seems to have got away with it.
Though the Shrimpers supremo will never be forgiven in many quarters, the query if a new era is on it's way thanks to the recent High Court action only just squeezed through by a few votes in the Chairman's favour, the new Blues boss carries far more favour.
Two thirds taking part in the last poll, starting a week before the Bradford victory but ending three days after, believe it's far too early to see if Paul Sturrock has brought in new players or not.
Quite correct, and one win away to Spud's sorry lot does not change that one way or the other, as the assistant Boss Tommy Widdrington says, it's only after the first ten league games before you can have an real idea in what direction your going, and that's six further games away yet.
If Sturrock's Shrimpers are a top half club after the final whistle blows after the match with
Lincoln City on Saturday, October 2nd, then the rest of the campaign could be very interesting with an immediate return to League One not out of the question.
