Malone: Loan deal done

Scott Malone: Signs on as a Cherrie

League One side AFC Bournemouth have signed our former loanee left-back Scott Malone from Wolves on loan themselves until January 2011.

Malone was at Dean Court over the weekend to watch his new team-mates finish runners-up in the inaugural EC Group Cup to German outfit FC Saarbrucken.

You think he should be getting the message that Mick McCarthy does not see him as part of the future plans at Premiership Wolves as young Scott is yet to make a first-team appearance having spent most of the 2009/10 season on loan with the Shrimpers before enjoying the majority of last term with League Two rivals Burton Albion, making a total of 26 appearances for the Brewers and scoring once, erm, against Southend!

Malone, a former England Under-19 international, will line up in Tuesday night's pre-season friendly against Wimborne Town where they won 3-0. (Report & pictures: www.afcb.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10324~2396625,00.html)

Ex--Captain Adam Barrett also recently joined the Cherries, managed by ex-striker Lee Bradbury!
