More footy under lights makes sense for Shrimpers

The joys of Roots Hall in the evening

The facts speak for themselves, of the eight games played under lights the Shrimpers have been unbeaten, winning six of them (Goals F 22 A 8); of the thirteen matches on a traditional Saturday afternoon, only three wins, four draws, and all six defeats (Goals F 13 A 9).

Many, including our own editor EEB, stuggle to make the night games but over the years atmosphere and the performance of whatever team the manger at the time has put out do seem to improves.

Crowds, though, on the whole remain the same, in fact there's a case to make that they drop in midweek.

What do you think? With just home matches left this term, a Good Friday and Saturday afternoon, could you make more games moved to Friday evening next time around, would you put up with it if it meant more points for the side?
