Macca looks to leave Charlton Athletic

Blimey Macca, where's your hair gone?

League Two rivals Bradford City and third tier Walsall are both interested in former Shrimpers and present Charlton Athletic midfielder Alan McCormack according to www.southlondonpress.co.uk, and they seem to get their facts right where news from the Valley is concerened, unlike their Millwall correspondant!

However, both clubs could be trumped by relegated Swindon Town acxcording to this latest report from the BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14223493.stm

Macca seemed on his way to our fellow basement division team Dagenham & Redbridge last week but could not agree personal terms, i.e. he wanted more dosh, or at least what he's getting at the moment where he's sitting on a contract that doesn't end until next summer al la Patters.

Whether to get what he thinks he's worth, all that Guinness has to be paid for somehow, and move 'up north' we'll have to wait and see, the Bantams could certainly afford him.

One thing is certainly both Macca and former player of the year Simon Francis seem to not be included in another ex-Shrimper in full back legend Chris Powell's plans for the Addicks.

McCormack wrote on his Twitter account: "I came back in great shape but unfortunately wasn't given the chance. That's all I wanted. Never mind. I understand."

Maybe your just not good enough Alan, but it does make you wonder with Macca, and before him Francis, failing to agree personal terms with potential new clubs, Simon turned down a move to Lee Bradbury's AFC Bournemouth recently, it makes you wonder what they were getting paid at Roots Hall, no wonder we nearly went bust!
