FourFourTwo magazine and the lower leagues

EEB and TB may have seen too many Southend games as they entered the bar

I've noticed other posts on other sites that have stated that FourFourTwo magazine lacks knowledge of the Lower Leagues and something along the lines of "doesn't give a f**k about them"

Now call me bias, (having worked on the magazine for just over a year now), but the magazine's coverage of the Lower League isn't bettered anywhere else. Last season in conjunction with EA, the magazine sponsored a player from each of the 72 League clubs, (The Mooose was the chosen one from Southend), and then featured both in magazine and online interviews and features on each of those 72 players. Then come the end of the season they featured a 'end of term' report on each of these players.

This season it gets better - they have sponsored League One Swindon Town with our good mate Billy Paynter - both their home and away shirts! That and they have given us what we the fans of the lower leagues have been crying out for, for years. A League One Fantasy Football (basically they have got a Game for every league) - so rather than us having to dabble away in the Sun's dream team and then call them "Southend Reserves" we can each pick the creme de la creme of the league.

To add to that they have produced the real life Championship Manager, well almost! Remember back to those addictive days spend scouting for a holding midfielder whose heading ability was over 15 and his tackling ability was over 10 - using www.footballtalentspotter.com FourFourTwo has brought this to the real world and using the real experts (us the fans) has all the important leagues covered when it comes to rating and slating the talent on show. It seems our friends from Colchester have found out about this a bit early as the Southend squad has been hit hard but I suppose it is half term.

Adding these two websites to an already good coverage of our league in the magazine itself only goes to strengthen the claim/fact that FourFourTwo is the UK's leading Football Magazine and that for now is my rant over.

One final point to add, those people who do believe that they dont care about the Football League should visit the League's website and see how the annual awards is in conjunction with - CASE CLOSED!
