Possible League One football for Craig Calver if he makes the Yeovil first team next term
Striker Craig Calver is still only 19 year old and was a star in Ricky Duncan's under-18 side during their 2008/09 Youth alliance Championship winning season where he scored 16 goals in 18 appearances.
The Shrimpers rewarded Calver with a one year contract in March 2009.
However, Craig hardly made it off the subs bench and after loan spells with Braintree United and St Albans City, was released by Southend and joined AFC Sudbury in March 2010.
He was invited tor training by League One Yeovil Town prior to their pre-season fixture against Swansea City, and has been involved in all the west country side's friendlies to date, and they've now decided to make the move permanent by offering Craig a one-year contract.
AFC Sudbury were formed when Sudbury Town and Sudbury Wanderers merged in 1999.
Next season they will play in Isthmian League Division One North, having previously played in the Southern League Division One Midlands.
Calver's former boss at AFC Sudbury Nicky Smith told www.afcsudbury.com: "It's great for him and I really hope he does well. He's worked hard while he's been with us and although he was in my plans for the new season, I'm sure that we will cope. Craig has spoken to me and thanked us for letting him play and how much he has enjoyed being with us. Let's hope we hear a lot more about him."
