Leon Constantine; scored a few as a Shrimper in his only season at Roots Hall
Veteran former Shrimpers striker Leon Constantine, and not everybody's favourite ex-player, has been released by Barnet following a recent trial against the club he left Southend for, Peterborough United.
The now 33-year old Constantine, that's OK to get a three-year contract in some parts, came off the bench as a second-half substitute in a 2-2 draw with the Posh last Saturday, Barnet were 2-1 up at the time, but failed to impress enough to get a further opportunity.
Former Shrimpers target Ricky Holmes started for the Bees after returning from a long term injury that saw his campaign end in January, so we should see him next season. (We play Barnet away on Tuesday, October 25th, and at Roots Hall on Friday, April 20th.)
Leon was released by York City at the end of last season.
