Speculation and the lack of a team photo, it's all a game.

Speculation. To speculate.
1. | a conclusion or opinion reached by such contemplation: These speculations are impossible to verify. |
2. | conjectural consideration of a matter; conjecture or surmise: a report based on speculation rather than facts. |
It's a funny old game, somebody a lot wiser than me once said.
There was a interesting post on the Shrimperzone message boards that before the internet and 24 hour speculation we all just waited for the start of the season and looked at the back page of the Echo to see if we had actually signed someone. It was a calmer time.
Quite true, but it doesn't mean this is a lot more fun.
There's no doubt that we at TLG wish we had held back on a couple of things but what the hell, it's not ment to be taken seriously, just giving a few Shrimpers a bit of a laugh on stories that are doing the rounds anyway.
Let's see how it can work, Southend message board prints rumour that Southend and Preston are after player. Ipswich board picks this up prints rumour. Southend website picks up Ipswich website and posts as a front page lead. What goes round ect. Not saying that's what happened, but it could.
If the Hall doesn't release an official statement then any story is open to continuing rumour. In fact, in the left back saga involving Lewis Emanule, Tilly is promising to get back to him tomorrow, he might still sign. Nobody knows nothing.
We love T&B. However, along with Uncle Ron, they are open to criticism as anybody in any job. After Brighton away last season questions were correctly asked, and by early April emphaticly answered. This does not mean anyone here wants them to go or believes they will not pull a Mulgrew out of the bag even at this late stage.
Sometimes the only time we get an answer is when that annoying 'speculation' from message boards and sites such as ours demand a response. Oh how they would like it to still be like the old days.
Let's have some true respect guys, if new players coming in led to the postponement of the team photo, why is taht the case? Is the money all tied up in Fossetts Farm? Ticket sales will not suddenly stop while supporters cut up season cards in the streets. I think we've sussed there is a lack of numbers in the first team squad, we could count the players left on the photo if there had have been one!
Last Monday our next opponents played European Champions Manchester United in front of over 13,000 and fielded two teams each half. We played Wycombe in front of a couple of thousand and played sixteen, one of which limped off.
It is a concern and we will write about it. It does not mean that the players that go out on Saturday and the 11 that start will not give their best for the club and win in the style that Tilly teams do best. I'm confident they will. It's what's going on behind the scenes where I believe the club should be more honest.
COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!
