It's better than last year, but the cheapest fares of £17.50 singles have long gone, so congrats to anyone who picked them up before Christmas.

Now you have to get very early for even the second or third best.

So if you decide to go, and a long weekend might be the way of doing it, get in now, they will only get more expensive, but honestly the club coaches or scrounge a lift may be the best way forward here as it stands!

Go to www.nationalrail.co.uk/ to see what services and ticket prices are available.

Other routes you can look at a 07.00 Euston - Birmingham New Street at a fiver, and a 10.20 Birmingham - Morecambe for £18.00, so £23.00 up there, £20.50 back; total - £43.50, phew!

Good luck!

From Southend, cheapest singles add up to £65.00, and you have to get a train out around 05.30, not recommended!

Station to Stadium

Morecambe railway station is around a 25-30 minute walk away from the ground.

As you come out of the railway station turn left down Central Drive past Frankie and Benny's, a Morrisons superstore and a KFC outlet and you will reach the sea front.

Turn left along the promenade passing the Ranch House pub on your left and then take the 5th left into Regent Road. Proceed straight up Regent Road and continue along into Westgate. You will reach the stadium on your left hand side, just over the railway bridge.

From near the train station you can get a bus number 9 or 9A, from the bus stop located opposite Frankie & Benny's. This drops you right outside the stadium. Coming back there is a bus stop outside the ground, the bus then which goes into town along the sea front and then onto the railway station.
