The best fare is avoiding the First Great Western website and trains and go straight to www.londonmidland.com, fill in the routes and date and there you will see fares available from 2 x £8 singles = £16, with group save you could get there and back for £8 and railcards they may end up giving you money, but probably not!

If the decent services start to go, stay on the same page, click on show other routes and then valid on London Midland trains only, where you can take advantage of a £22 super saver day return!

And eventually it will go!

Examples (all change at Birmingham New Street)

London Euston 07.54 - Hereford 12.19
London Euston 09.13 - Hereford 13.19
London Euston 10.13 - Hereford 14.19

Hereford 17.40 - London Euston 22.11

Next up is 22.00, back in the smoke after midnight, try and get than twenty to six, still time for a pint after as well!

Give yourself over five & a half hours from Southend stations and at cost of £69.50 return (!), best to get a all day travelcard to London and then the two singles from Euston!

Good place though to have a long weekend though and a return single could be booked for the next day easily enough.

Hereford is in the Group Save area that can cut fares in half if four of you can travel together, and any various travelcards will make it even cheaper.

You can also take advatage of a similar group offer on www.londonmidland.com, and if there's ten of you it may get even cheaper!

One of the best drinking trips in the football league: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk (hopefully, don't have to update!)

Station to Stadium

Hereford Station is under a ten minute walk away from the station and not much longer from all the wonderful pubs on offer!
