Oldham Athletic 1 Huddersfield Town 1

Oldham lost their 100 percent home league record as they were held by a stubborn Huddersfield.

The Terriers took the lead after 29 minutes, when Ian Craney rifled a left-footed drive into the top corner for his fourth of the season.

Oldham responded five minutes into the second-half through Andy Liddell's low 25-yard drive, but they were unable to go on and get the winner.

Scunthorpe United 2 Yeovil Town 0

Scunthorpe continued their impressive start to the season with a routine victory over struggling Yeovil.

The hosts took the lead on 27 minutes when Izzy Iriekpen headed home Grant McCann's corner from six-yards out.

And Scunthorpe had their seventh successive win wrapped up just past the hour when Terrell Forbes put through his own net after good work from Cliff Byrne.

Leeds United 1 Hereford United 0

Andy Robinson's late winner ensured Leeds are just a point off the top after dominating against bottom club Hereford.

Leeds failed to make their early chances pay, as they struggled to find a way past Hereford keeper Darren Randolph.

Hereford faced an onslaught throughout the game, and failed to muster a shot on target as they looked to pick up their first away point of the season.

But the hosts finally snatched the points with 18 minutes left when Robinson netted a header from close range to finally beat Randolph.

Leicester City 1 Hartlepool United 0

Matt Oakley's early goal was enough for Leicester to pick up their third home win of the season.

The Foxes took the lead after just three minutes, when Lloyd Dyer's low cross from the left was finished from close range by Oakley.

Hartlepool had their chances but could not find a way past David Martin and Leicester clung on to take all three points.

Swindon Town 1 Millwall 2  (Played Sunday September 28)

On-loan Jermaine Easter scored on his debut but was then sent off in stoppage time as Millwall won at Swindon to move up to fourth place in League One.

Lewis Grabban fed Wales international Easter to put the visitors ahead.

Jack Smith levelled with a cross-shot that deceived Lions keeper David Forde but when Tony Craig headed against the bar, Grabban smashed in the rebound.

Having already been booked, Easter was shown a straight red card just before full time for a needless foul on Smith.

Walsall 2 Carlisle United 1

Walsall leapfrogged Carlisle into the play-off places after goals from Dwayne Mattis and Jabo Ibehre helped them to a 2-1 success over The Cumbrians.

Carlisle should have taken the lead after nine minutes when Walsall keeper Clayton Ince brought down Danny Carlton, but Ince made amends when he saved Danny Graham's resultant penalty.

And the hosts took advantage on the stroke of half time through Mattis, who headed home Alex Nicholls' left wing cross.

Walsall doubled their lead on 64 minutes when Ibehre drilled home Chris Palmer's near post corner and despite a late penalty from Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, Carlisle were unable to avoid suffering their third straight defeat.

Southend United 3 Leyton Orient 0  (played Friday September 26)

Two up after 12 minutes Blues went on to complete a comprehensive 3-0 victory over their East London rivals. Full report available here: www.thelittlegazette.com/news/loadnews.asp?cid=TMNW&id=409234

Milton Keynes Dons 1 Peterborough United 2

Dominic Green scored a late winner as Peterborough came from behind to end MK Dons' two game winning run at home.

Ali Gerba gave The Dons the lead after 64 minutes when he latched on to Sam Baldock's through ball and slotted past Posh keeper Joe Lewis.

But Craig Mackail Smith levelled with a penalty in the 70th minute after a handball by Dean Lewington.

And Peterborough completed the comeback with 15 minutes to go when Green drove home right footed from six yards.

Cheltenham Town 2 Stockport County 2

Michael Raynes scored a last minute equaliser as Stockport maintained their unbeaten start away from home.

Stuart Fleetwood gave the hosts the lead after 32 minutes when he drove home from 12 yards just a day after signing on-loan.

The Hatters levelled on 55 minutes when Peter Thompson met Anthony Pilkington's cross to send a low header beyond Cheltenham keeper Scott Brown.

The Robins restored their lead in the 65th minute. Scott Murray's penalty was saved by Owain fon Williams but Josh Payne reacted quickest to head home the rebound.

But Stockport grabbed a point when Raynes rose highest to head home Jim McNulty's cross from the left.

Tranmere Rovers 3 Colchester United 4  (played Friday September 26)

Colchester won their first match under caretaker manager Kit Symons as they climbed out of the bottom four.

David Perkins' curler from outside the box put Colchester ahead, but Antony Kay's header levelled the scores.

Mark Yeates' 25-yard free-kick restored Colchester's lead, and Clive Platt made it 3-1 on the turn before Johnnie Jackson added a long-range fourth.

Andy Taylor cut the gap after a howler from Dean Gerken but Ryan Shotton's strike came too late for Tranmere.

Northampton Town 2 Brighton & Hove Albion 2

Adebayo Akinfenwa struck deep into stoppage time to ensure Northampton maintained their unbeaten home record against Brighton.

Brighton went in front from the penalty spot three minutes before half time after Jason Crowe fouled Joe Anyinsah and Glenn Murray thumped home the penalty.

However, as it appeared as though the visitors may cling on, Akinfenwa popped up with his fifth of the campaign 14 minutes from time to pull the sides level.

Murray thought he had won the points for the visitors when he struck three minutes into time added on, but in the 96th minute Akinfenwa headed in Luke Guttridge's centre to end a frantic final few minutes.

Bristol Rovers 0 Crewe Alexandra 0

Crewe picked up their first point away from home this season after a stalemate at the Memorial Ground.

In an evenly contested game, chances were few and far between, and when opportunities were presented neither side could find a way past keepers Steve Phillips and Steve Collis.

Both teams remain in the lower reaches of the table on seven points.
