Ryan Hall: Assistant of the Year!

Hall: Rallies team-mates
How many Barry Corr headers were planted on his head by Ryan Hall crosses?

Shrimpers striker may get the headlines away from Roots Hall for his 21 goals overall but the faithfull know that without the tremendous form showed by winger Ryan Hall, which has seen him top the League Two assist chart, you could probably cut that final total by up to two-thirds!

Corners, free-kicks, the London-born 23-year-old was everywhere, four ahead in assists to his nearest rival, blimey, he even helped himself to nine strikes of his own in the league. The boy did good.

And all this after being locked up for a night at Her Majesty's Pleasure with one of the first faces you see on release being Ron Martin, personally I would have asked to go straight back in, but Ryan dutifilly manned up, went to Morecambe, where he played crap and we lost, but after that, well, the rest of the season is history, and the stats prove it below.

Slaps on back though to the Millers Nicky Law and Railwayman Shaun Mller, good that, and to little Mark Marshall of the Bees who performed such a great escape sending Tilly's Lincoln down on the last day.

As for the Shews Matt Harrold, wonder how many of those ten assists were not performed within the laws of the game, certainly we saw one at Roots Hall that the match officials could have handled better.

League Two Assists Top Ten (League games only)

1- Ryan Hall (Southend United) - 16
2- Nicky Law (Rotherham United) - 12
3 - Shaun Miller (Crewe Alexandra) - 11

4- Mark Marshall (Barnet) - 10
5- Matt Harrold (Shrewsbury Town) - 10
6- Drew Talbot (Chesterfield) - 9
6- Danny Whitaker (Chesterfield) - 9
6- Craig Stanley (Torquay United) - 9
6- Michael Jacobs (Northampton Town) - 9
10- Lawrie Wilson (Stevenage) - 8
10- Sean MConville (Accrington) - 6
10- Jack Lester (Chesterfield) - 8

Now after all this you can't believe we need a winger? Let's have you're thoughts on where the Shrimpers squad should be strengthened:

(Not an exact science, i.e. put attacking central midfielder or striker who lays off Big Baz, but it will give an idea of the thoughts where the team are believed to be weakest.)
