Porter pushes Blues down a place

Last updated : 17 January 2009 By Shrimpers24

Hartlepool United 2 Northampton Town 0

Porter scored the opener after just five minutes, slotting home from just inside the area after some neat build-up play with Michael Mackay.

Pools doubled the lead after the break with Porter finishing well after Andy Monkhouse ended a dazzling run from his own half with a defence-splitting pass.

The Cobbler's best chance fell to Adebayo Akinfenwa who fired just over.
