Harrold: Makes Rovers move

Prince Harry moves on again

The 26-year-old former Shrimpers striker Matt Harrold passed a medical at the Memorial Stadium on Thursday before signing a two-year contract for Bristol Rovers which will begin on June 20th.

New Pirates boss Paul Buckle is delighted to have captured a player he feels can be a key man for his side this season.

Buckle told www.bristolrovers.co.uk: "Matt wasn't officially available - he wasn't on any lists and I wasn't contacted by any agents about him. But he's a player I've always liked, so I thought why not have a go for him?. I think we've got lucky because I believe he's someone who can play at League Two level or the division above."

Harrold, who stands at 6ft 3ins, joined Shrewsbury last summer on a two-year deal and scored nine goals in 47 appearances Harrold following a career that has seen him turn out for Brentford, Yeovil Town, Southend United and Wycombe Wanderers, before joining the Shrews in July 2010.

Buckle added: "He's certainly a target man and it's always hard to find one of those who is a prolific scorer, but he will set up goals for other people and when the ball goes up front it will stick with him. His all-round game is excellent, his work-rate is phenomenal and after having had a good talk with him, I think we can work well together."

Let's hope when we face the Gasmen on Saturday, November 26th at Roots Hall and away on Saturday, March 24th he keeps his hands to himself this time around!

Midson: Barnet switch

Jack Midson: Oxford Don is now at WimbleDon (Cannot believe I wrote that again)

Meanwhile, AFC Wimbledon, who were officially voted into the League at its AGM in Cyprus last Friday, have confirmed the signing of 27-year-old striker Jack Midson from bottom tier rivals Oxford United on a freebie after reports Thursday reported the newcomers on the verge of completing the deal..

Midson, who has also played for Stevenage, Dagenham & Redbridge and Histon, was not offered a new contract by the U's.

He joined Oxford from Histon in 2009 and helped them achieve promotion to the Football League.

Last season he had loan spells at Southend United and Barnet, and scored a hat-trick for Oxford in a 4-3 win over Torquay, as well as a brace for us in the 2-0 away win at Cheltenham.

Dons chief executive Erik Samuelson told Sky Sports News: "He is a player we have been chasing for a while. He's mobile, robust and scores goals and he will be a good addition to the squad."

We have double holiday fixtures against AFC when we'll probably see Jack again, a first visit to Kingsmeadow in Kingston-upon-Thames on New Years Eve, the return on Easter Monday at Roots Hall.

However, the two players involved in this report should meet each other on the opening day of the season when AFC Wimbledon play their first ever football league game against Bristol Rovers at home.
