Cheltenham 0 Leicester 4

Leicester went top of League One thanks to a Lloyd Dyer double and long-range strikes from Matt Oakley and Matt Fryatt.

The Foxes had a dream start when former MK Dons striker Dyer scored from six yards after Shane Higgs parried Fryatt's effort.

Oakley doubled Leicester's lead from 25 yards and Fryatt put the result beyond doubt with a superb right-footed free-kick.

And Dyer put the icing on the cake in the 80th minute as Cheltenham succumbed to their third straight defeat.

Colchester United 2 Oldham Athletic 2

Substitute Deane Smalley grabbed a dramatic late equaliser as Oldham Athletic came from two down to earn a point at Colchester United in a lively second half.

Colchester were looking for a first win at their new stadium but The Latics showed the battling qualities they will need if they are to sustain their excellent start to the season.

Mark Yeates struck either side of half-time to give Colchester a two-goal lead, before Chris Taylor immediately pulled one back for Oldham.

With the home team defending well, it seemed that the three points would be staying in Essex but Smalley, introduced five minutes earlier, smashed home from close range to share the spoils.

Carlisle United 4 Yeovil Town 1

Danny Graham hit a hat-trick as Carlisle came from behind to thump Yeovil at Brunton Park.

The Glovers took the lead in the 16th minute when Gavin Tomlin turned in after Marc Bircham's shot was parried by Ben Williams.

But Graham equalised on the stroke of half-time with a low shot before giving Carlisle the lead in the 58th minute from close range.

Graham scored from the spot in the 69th minute after Lee Peltier hauled down Cleveland Taylor, and Gary Madine completed the rout in injury time from the corner of the penalty area.

Brighton & Hove Albion 0 Leyton Orient 0

Michael Kuipers kept Brighton's unbeaten record intact as he pulled off a string of fine saves to deny Leyton Orient at the Withdean Stadium.

The Dutch keeper was on unbeatable form as Brighton stayed in fourth place.

Orient dominated large parts of the game, with Jason Demetriou, in particular, a constant menace, but his two goal-bound efforts were unable to find a way past Kuipers.

Stockport County 0 Scunthorpe United 3

Gary Hooper hit a double as Scunthorpe ended Stockport's unbeaten start to the season at Edgeley Park.

The United striker took his tally for the season to three, as The Iron won their second game on the trot.

Hooper opened the scoring in the 30th minute, firing home from 12 yards and grabbed his second from close range in the opening minute of the second half.

And Grant McCann put the result beyond all doubt with a superb 20-yard free-kick.

Hereford 2 Crewe Alexandra 0

Second-half goals from Stephen O'Leary and Bradley Hudson-Odoi gave Hereford their first points of the season.

O'Leary broke the deadlock in the 48th minute when his 25-yard shot beat Crewe keeper Steve Collis.

And eight minutes later Hudson-Odoi doubled Hereford's advantage when he fired into the bottom corner after O'Leary's shot was blocked.

Leeds 2 Bristol Rovers 2

Jermaine Beckford's low right-footed shot in the 77th minute rescued a point for Leeds as their disappointing start to the season continued.

Leeds were ahead early on when Beckford's 25-yard strike deflected in off Steve Elliott in the fifth minute.

But Bristol Rovers levelled on 32 minutes when the in-form Richard Lambert volleyed home his fifth of the season from 12 yards.

And five minutes later Daryl Duffy stunned the home crowd, volleying Stuart Campbell's free-kick in from close range for his third of the season.

Millwall 2 Huddersfield Town 1

Lewis Grabban grabbed the winner as Millwall came from behind to earn their first victory of the season at the New Den.

Both sides started the game in the relegation zone, and Huddersfield took the lead when Liam Dickinson, on loan from Derby, got his first for the club drilling home a right-footed shot from 12 yards.

But another loan signing Tresor Kandol equalised for Millwall in the 37th minute, heading in Chris Hackett's cross.

And the Lions went in front when Grabban latched on to Neil Harris' pass to slot past Matthew Glennon in the 62nd minute.

Milton Keynes Dons 1 Swindon Town 2

Simon Cox's last-minute penalty snatched a smash-and-grab win for Swindon at MK Dons.

The striker's cool penalty ended The Robins' three-match losing run after Jude Stirling's equaliser had cancelled out Billy Paynter's 52nd-minute opener for Town.

Paynter broke the deadlock after Simon Cox robbed ex-Town defender Sean O' Hanlon and unselfishly squared.

Stirling grabbed his second in two games for the Dons in the 65th minute, bundling in the ball from close range after Robins keeper Smith had flapped at Mark Wright's corner.

Peterborough United 1 Hartlepool United 2

Andy Monkhouse and Richard Barker struck in the space of two second half minutes to set Hartlepool on the road to victory at London Road

Monkhouse lashed home from five yards to give Pool the lead in the 58th minute and seconds later Barker drilled a right-footed shot in from the edge of the penalty area.

George Boyd pulled one back for Peterborough when he fired into the bottom right hand corner from Chris Whelpdale's cross.

Tranmere Rovers 4 Northampton Town 1

Northampton's great week ended on a sour note as Tranmere Rovers came from behind to record an emphatic win at Prenton Park.

Ryan Gilligan put the Cobblers in front in the 11th minute, but Rovers hit back with three goals in ten minutes.

Bas Savage equalised from 12 yards before Antony Kay lashed home to put Tranmere in front, and Craig Curran doubled Rovers' advantage on the stroke of half-time.

Tranmere were comfortably the better team and Ian Moore added some gloss to the score-line, firing home left-footed from 12 yards in injury time.
