Oldham moved back to the top of League One as a goal from Reuben Hazell settled a hard-fought game at Prenton Park.

The Latics went in front on 35 minutes when Neal Eardley crossed from the right and Hazell crashed a header in off keeper Danny Coyne.

In a bad-tempered second half seven players were booked, and despite coming under heavy pressure Oldham held firm to take the three points.

Brighton 1 Scunthorpe 4

Scunthorpe striker Gary Hooper bagged a hat-trick to fire The Iron to a comfortable win and continued Brighton's home woes.

Scunthorpe went in front in the fourth minute when winger Martyn Woolford, a recent signing from York, got on the end of Garry Thompson's pass to fire past Michel Kuipers.

And Hooper got himself on the scoresheet in first-half stoppage time from close range and he had another ten minutes after the break with another smart finish in the box.

Hooper completed his hat-trick on 68 after good work from Sam Togwell before Jake Robinson grabbed a 75th minute consolation for the hosts.

MK Dons 3 Yeovil 0

Peter Leven bagged two goals to help fire MK Dons past an out of sorts Yeovil at Stadium:MK(!)

The former Chesterfield midfielder fired the Dons in front in the 20th minute when he tapped in from close range.

Teenager Sam Baldock celebrated his new two-year deal with a 53rd minute second when he crashed in from 20 yards.

And Leven sealed the win 12 minutes from time when he got on the end of Florian Sturm's cross.

Leeds United 5 Crewe Alexandra 2

Five different goal-scorers fired Leeds to a comprehensive victory over Crewe at Elland Road.

Leeds dominated the game and took the lead in the 26th minute when highly-rated midfielder Fabian Delph celebrated signing a new four-year contract by thumping a 25-yard drive past Steve Collis.

And ten minutes later Alan Sheehan doubled United's advantage with an even better strike, when his 30-yard shot found the top corner.

Second half goals from Jonathan Douglas, Jermaine Beckford and Andy Robinson added gloss to the scoreline before Calvin Zola and Eugen Bopp netted late on for Crewe after Lubos Michalik was stupidly sent off.

Millwall 2 Hartlepool 0

First half goals from Lewis Grabban and Gary Alexander helped Millwall to their second league win on the trot at the New Den.

Grabban gave Millwall the perfect start on three minutes, slotting home right-footed from Neil Harris' cross.

And Grabban played a part in Millwall's second in the 41st minute when his shot was palmed out by Arran Lee-Barrett to the lurking Alexander who headed in from three yards.

Hartlepool offered little in response and the Lions held on for a comfortable victory.

Walsall 0 Leyton Orient 2

Goals in the last 20 minutes from Paul Terry and Adam Boyd fired Leyton Orient to victory at the Bescot Stadium.

Terry broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute when he volleyed home Jason Demetriou's cross.

And it was game over six minutes later when Paul Boertien brought down John Melligan inside the box.

Boyd fired the penalty into the roof of the net to ensure Orient went home with the three points.

Peterborough 5-4 Bristol Rovers

Posh won a spectacular clash with Bristol Rovers on Saturday afternoon. The home side were ahead throughout the game but were put under intense pressure, as Rovers only gave up when the referee whistled for full time.

Craig Mackail-Smith was the hero for Posh, as he netted a hat-trick including a penalty, while his team-mates Aaron McLean and then Scott Rendell scored before and after the break respectively.

Goals from Steve Elliot, Shane Blackett against his own camp, Jeff Hughes and an amazing Rickie Lambert free kick proved to be useless consolations for the courageous Rovers.

Cheltenham 1 Huddersfield 2

Huddersfield new-boy Ian Craney completed a second-half comeback to lift The Terriers off the bottom of the table.

Town trailed to debutant Lloyd Owusu's 42nd minute strike at the break but were a different side after a half-time rocket from boss Stan Ternent.

Defender Nathan Clarke levelled the scores on 57 when he converted a goalmouth scramble and ten minutes later former Accrington midfielder Craney found the top corner from 25-yards.
