Guttridge: Finds new home

Little Luke: From a Cobbler to a Shot and back again!

The 29-year-old Luke Gutteridge left the Recreation Ground by mutual consent on Thursday having made 80 appearances for the Hampshire club, scoring 13 goals.

Guttridge started his career at Torquay and also played for Cambridge, Southend, Leyton Orient and Colchester before joining the Cobblers in 2008, spending two years with them before moving to Aldershot.

Luke, we loved him once, has penned an 18-month deal, and will be in Aidy Boothroyd's squad for Saturday's trip to the Shrimpers promotion rivals Torquay United.

Southend United have already played Northampton twice, so we won't be seeing Gutteridge agin this campaign and hopefully for a while, but face the Shots twice in a month; away in the great floodlight failure rematch at the Rec on Tuesday, February 21st and the Roots Hall return on Tuesday, March 20th.
