Relegated back into League Two at the end of last season Dagenham & Redbridge have agreed a five-figure fee fee, including a sell-on clause and performance-related bonuses, with Blue Square South side Chelmsford City for former Shrimpers trailist Rob Edmans.

Edmans, who will sign a two-year deal, scored five goals in 17 league appearances for the Clarets, as they finished fourth in the sixth tier to reach the play-offs.

Sadly though Edmans missed Chelmsford's two-leg semi-final defeat to Ebbsfleet United with a broken leg that he suffered on the last day of the regular season!

Former Shrimpers midfielder and Clarets boss Glenn Pennyfather told www.chelmsfordcityfootballclub.co.uk/: “Rob’s always attracted interest through his sheer ability and the potential for that to grow. We’ve enjoyed bringing him through a crucial part of his career and look forward to seeing how he does in a full-time environment. We thank Rob for being part of what we’ve achieved.”

The Daggers themselves are on the verge of losing winger Danny Green to Chris Powell's League One side Charlton Athletic, (where he will join up with ex-D&R striker Paul Benson), which will piss off Peterborough United's Barry Fry who thought he was on his way to London Road, and that must be a good thing!
